Ontario allows adults to consume cannabis in the comfort of a private residence, as well as sidewalks, parks, designated smoking rooms in hotels and motels, long-term care homes, certain retirement homes, residential hospices, provincially-funded supportive housing and designated psychiatric facilities or veterans’ facilities.

Ontario prohibits smoking or vaping cannabis in indoor common areas, enclosed public and work spaces, at schools or other places children gather, publicly-owned sports fields, vehicles or boats that are being driven, restaurant patios or bars, or hospitals.
